RHS NJROTC ANNUAL INSPECTION, PASS-IN-REVIEW AND DRILL TEAM DEMONSTRATIONS
(December 12, 2013 - Riverhead, NY) The Riverhead High School Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) participated in its Annual Manager's Inspection under the review of the Area Four Manager, Commander Joseph Hankins, US Navy, retired. Cmdr. Hankins did a full inspection first of appearance, then drill and finally a full inspection of the Unit over the course of the day. During his remarks at the end of the ceremony, Cmdr. Hankins spoke highly of Riverhead's NJROTC Unit and the support that is demonstrated by the Board of Education, the administration and the community. He commended both the unit and those who support it and congratulated the unit on its overall performance as a unit and as individual cadets.
There are 58 NJROTC Units in Area Four and the RHS NJROTC UNIT is one of only 11 to be awarded the distinction of Distinguished Unit with Honors for School year 2012-2013. The RHS unit appears to be on track to achieve that distinction again this year.

All other areas of the Inspection including the Cadet Brief, Supply, Armory, Administration, Public Affairs and Training received passing grades and were highly complimented by the Commander.
